The Soul City Institute for Social Justice is a critically important organisation in the South African landscape - acting as a pillar of strength and support for women and young girls.
We have worked with the Soul City Institute since 2010. During this time we've supported them across almost all of their communications activities. This has included social media strategy development, media relations, writing and editing of stories, opinion pieces and formal reports, designing newsletters and other documentation, producing podcasts, videos and infographics as well as events management and advocacy campaign support.
In early 2017, we supported Soul City with their #SafeTaxisNow campaign. The campaign, ran from March to May and was in response to the spate of assaults of female taxi commuters in and around Johannesburg, South Africa. The campaign shone a spotlight on the daily challenges faced by women as they commute to work. It led to a national debate culminating in a call for a National Safe Taxis Charter.
