frayintermedia founder Paula Fray is hosting a 21-day #LockdownJournal challenge to support journalists and other communicators to tell compelling local stories during the coronavirus outbreak. The writing programme, which will be hosted on a range of online platforms, will take writers through various exercises over a period in which many African countries are in lockdown in order to flatten the curve of the coronavirus pandemic. Fray is frayintermedia’s lead journalism and media management trainer and coaches opinion writers across the globe. “I realised that many busy people who struggle to overcome their fear of writing and speaking out might have an ideal opportunity to begin to capture their thoughts during this international lockdown. “I want the programme to be fun but also empowering. We will take people through a growth process of finding ideas to write, capturing thoughts in an interesting way and then lots of re-writing and editing,” said Fray. The programme includes daily creative writing prompts, writing tips, a weekly 30 minute online discussion and social media updates to show the progress of participants. Anyone can join the #LockdownJournal challenge via email, WhatsApp or on social media platforms. “All you need is a journal. And, of course, the desire to write your own story,” said Fray. The challenge runs from March 27 to April 16. SOCIAL MEDIA: Daily updates will be featured on @frayintermedia’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
