frayintermedia is working with Big Fish film school on a training workshop aimed at improving Paralegal’s skills on using their mobile devices to capture stories to support their cases. The first workshop was completed in four days, starting on Tuesday, 16th May and ending on Friday, 19th May. The twelve Paralegal advisors are from the National Alliance for the Development of Community Advice Offices (Nadcao).

Nadcao is an NGO on a mission to develop long-term sustainable Community Advice Offices (CAOs). They currently have a network of 312 CAOs in all South African provinces.

The topics in this course were tailored according to the needs assessment conducted prior the training. This kind of training generally covers: Smartphone specifications and apps, data management, media law, storytelling techniques, hidden camera techniques, interview techniques, editing and practical exercises.

The Association of Independent Publishers (AIP) is one of the organisations whose members have undergone smartphone training.
